I finally got around to paying my race fees today for the YMCA Christmas Run and New Years Day 5K.
Looks like I will be taking this running thing into my 2nd year.
$55 total for both races. I don’t really think that a 2.5 mile run and a 3.1 mile run is really worth $55. That is like spending $10 A MILE. Especially when I don’t have a chance of being fast enough to being in the top 3, sometimes race fees are just not worth it.
They probably will be giving out a cheap, white, cotton race shirts that will be going to the thrift store.
There is no way that I will be eating $55 worth of bagels after the races either.
Despite being a Scrooge, Grinch, cheapskate, I want to participate.
Actually, I want another reason to wear my Sparkle Skirt, again. The pic above is my plan to wear on the 17th, (orange North Face fleece, capris, BSU knee high socks) but with gloves, and a blue & orange BSU hat. Not sure if I will go with a blue & orange santa hat, or a knit hat, or beanie, but it will be a warm blue & orange something. Have yet to decide on the Brooks or Newtons for running shoes. Everyone will be dressed as something Christmas themed – angels, jesus, grinch, santa, elves. I have to be warm and stand out in a swarm of red, white and green.
As for the New Years Day run, I have no idea what to wear for that one yet. I have to figure something festive and fun.
Have you started getting ready for races in 2012? I would like to do the Provo marathon, as it is right before the BF’s and my birthdays.
