I have never done Robie Creek before and, like a rookie, I didn’t know what to expect. Packet pickup was at 5pm today. I have to be at work at 5pm. I was a half hour late, which I told my boss I was going to be late 2 weeks ago. All is cool on the work front.
I got in line at 4:45. The line went down and around the block. Dang! I shoulda came earlier & I am glad I had put an hour on the meter.
The line moved quickly after 5. I was surprised with the amount of people there waiting in the rain.
There was an Idaho Dance Theater dude, Yurek Hansen, he was performing on the corner. I shoulda taken a pic but I was actually moving in the line.
We went downstairs to pick up our bib numbers. Just a short wait and into another line to go upstairs. Got our packets with coupons and a bumper sticker in it from Shus- which I need something to stick it on because I don’t want it on my car. No samples in the packet. I got my socks, which one of the ladies told me I didn’t pre-order. Oh, I did and I have my receipt. Oh look, they found my name. Don’t get me all worked up, now!
Free Red Bulls were there and I grabbed an icy Sugar Free one. Every time I think Red Bull I think vodka. Is this just a me thing? There was beer and some snacky things for sale. Wish I didn’t have to go to work otherwise the lush I am woulda grabbed a beer.
All this took less then 15 minutes. I was pretty impressed with the speed and ease of going from station to station getting our goodies.
On another note, I am in love with Brooks. I didn’t notice this when I took my shoes out of the box but I got a plantable card that has wildflower seeds in it. So freakin’ cool – and I needed some flowers for one of my planters outside. Woo-hoo!
PS Boise peeps – don’t forget to watch for my See Jane Run free entry contest soon! Soon, I say!
