I was really scared to go into bootcamp today.
I ALMOST made an excuse to not go in. Almost.
New things scare me. New people, new situations, I am a total wuss.
I like my comfort zone, no matter how stagnant and boring it is.
But I did go. And I am glad that I did. (Minus the fact that I had to spend $30 on some stretchy bands and a dollar for parking. The cheapskate in me grumbled about that.) I AM going to be a little sore tomorrow. My arms felt it.
But the workouts were good. As challenging as we needed to make it. We did a warm up of foam rolling and some exercises that I was walked through yesterday – squats, spiderman lunge thingies, hand walkouts. Some other stuff I can’t remember.
Then we moved into a tabata style workout. We were grouped into 5 different groups or so and each group started at a different station. Worked that station for 30 seconds then 30 seconds to get to the next station. Squats with the stretchy band, swinging the battling ropes, pull ups with a TRX, forearm planks, and some lunge/squat thing I couldn’t get my form right on. Did all of those for 4 rounds. Then we moved onto finishing moves which was squats with the band, then bent over rows with the band, squat/overhead press with the band. I think there was one more thing also.
How many squats did I do today? At least 100, I swear.
I was dripping sweat before I finished the warm up, and you don’t wanna know what I looked like! I was a total sweaty beast! My arms are gonna be sore. And the #PlankPushupSquats that I have done most of this month really, really, really helped. Really.
One thing that I noticed some people had that I will get tomorrow afternoon – weight lifting gloves. All the grabbing onto the TRX and ropes kinda hurt my delicate hands.
Hopefully Sports Authority will have a cute pink pair in the store like the ones above. Some people had yoga mats to do their planks and some of their warm ups on, but I am not too concerned about getting one of those right now. Gloves are more important.
I am hella-hungry now and I want a nap. I still have a bike ride to do to get to work. And work.
I will slog up to Tablerock tomorrow. Did I say something about being stagnant? Yeah, same trail I always am on.
What brand of yoga mat and weight lifting gloves do you use if you do? What do you do when you are really tired but still have 12 hours to go before bedtime? What was your workout today?
