I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead. Or At Work.

Posted on August 24, 2012 by runinboise

Have you entered my giveaway this week?

Going to bed with a full stomach (something I rarely do!) and a head full of stress, does not make for the most restful sleep.

I was tossing and turning for the whole 5 hours of sleep I got. I remember looking at the clock at 5:something. I had a bad dream, it dealt with all my co-workers, which seems like it lasted 3 hours. I couldn’t go back to sleep after waking up with my heart pounding. I have been awake since 8am. I have to stay awake until 2am.

I know I am going to be taking a nap at work tonight during my break. I know it.

The good news is that I got 6 slow miles done! The weather was such a nice change with it being 70 degrees, I would be hating myself if I just laid around in bed feeling like sleepy crap.

I was really focused on my form during this run. I felt like I did the first 4 miles with landing on my forefoot. I was in the zone where I was feeling good, that groggy-head feeling was gone, and just wanted to keep running.

And that is my excuse for not taking pics during my slog. But mile 5, my legs were getting tired. My nice form went out the window.

I passed one lady around mile 2 or so. We passed each other again, but in the other direction after I started mile 5. She said something about how I am rocking my run today. Something like that lol. And I mentioned how I was just doing 6 miles today. She seemed pretty impressed and I love love love bragging about mileage.

I am not fast, but I can get my miles done. And having someone I don’t know give me mad props on my awesomeness just make my day.

🙂

Anyways, time to prepare for my nap shift at work. Sorry this post is kinda bland.

What was your workout today?

Those sleeps are the worst! I know what you mean. Congrats on the 6 miler though. It doesn't matter how slow you go – you ran!

Oh I hate not getting any sleep! What's worse is when those dreams happen, they're more like seconds and feel like an eternity!!! Ah, the dreaded dream about co-workers. :/That's great that you still got a run out!

I had a lot of work stuff in my head when I went to bed. I hate dreaming about co-workers.

Yeah, I was pretty tired before I started out but didn't feel so groggy when I ran.

Nice job! THere's so much to be said for covering the miles no matter the pace. I had a strength day today. Just upper body. I'm going to see if that leaves my legs any fresher for tomorrow's run. One can hope!
