I have something special to share with all of you. Janji is a company that makes running shirts and shorts for men & women. Each product sold provides food, water, and medicine for those living in Kenya and Haiti.
From their website.
On the way to the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Mike and Dave had an idea: what if they could help runners give back not solely through charitable races, but during each and every run? By the time the track meet ended, Janji had been born.
Mike and Dave realized that by producing high performance running apparel with a distinct look, Janji could raise awareness and fund relief for the global food and water crisis—one that kills 1 child every 6 seconds and affects nearly 2 billion people worldwide.
They knew that runners–including themselves–often take for granted the food and water needed to run. Not everyone is so lucky. Now by simply wearing Janji’s apparel, runners can help provide food and water to those in need.
Janji is the Malaysian word for “promise.” Janji’s promise—made by Mike and Dave on that bus ride—is to combat the food and water crisis through the power of running.
Janji contacted me asking if I would like to review and share the Janji story with all of you. (FYI-They have been offering Janji products at Bandanna since July, Boise area peeps) I think the Run For Another motto is great. Runners are pretty helpful and friendly people and who wouldn’t want to help someone better their quality of life. After I made a small donation to KickStart, Janji sent me a pair of shorts to review. But they run a little on the small size. They are a size Large, but just looking at them I know they are not going to fit me. I imagine they would fit a size 10, give or take a size. I didn’t get to try them on but they feel amazing and lightweight. They even have the built in panty inside. So, instead of hording something that I can’t fit into, or attempting to lose weight to get into them, I want to host a giveaway of the Kenya shorts with you.
|These are the shorts I can send to you if you win.|
|From the Janji website.|
You can donate to help Janji bring water to a Kenyan family, you can donate on KickStart.
You can donate to help Janji end malnutrition in children in Haiti, you can donate to Meds & Food For Children.
Or you can purchase products on the Janji site. You can follow Janji on their website, blog, Twitter, and Facebook.
Shipping will be provided by me to you. Giveaway is for 1 pair of Janji Kenya Women’s Size Large shorts. Contest runs from August 15, 2012 until August 22, 2012.

I can only guess that Ethiopia could use some help!
I would love to see a \”Run for the Rainforest\” – and then whatever country in the world wanted to go for it – there are MANY with rainforests in peril! Maybe Peru? Nicaragua?
