Today is the day before race day. I actually have nerves going on. Not as bad as I did before Robie Creek, but I am a little ADD today.
2 cups of coffee as my morning fuel (didn’t eat anything) and decided to hit the track. Oh, I guess there was something about the Olympics having some track thing going on today? What? I have not heard anything about it? /sarcasm) I was a little on the hyper side. 3.1 miles down in 34 minutes! Garmin says it was 33:something but it is cool. I’ll take it.
I picked up my race “packet” for the race I will be doing tomorrow. They had Hammer Gels for everyone. Huckleberry? Yes! There was also tropical but I like the huckleberry. I plan on taking 1 Accel gel during the race.
Lucky number 68. If my confidence level today is anything like how I felt in Stanley, I will place 3rd from last again. Goal is under 2 hours. We will see how that goes.
I wanted an iced mocha before my 4 hour shift at work tonight but decided to nix that idea. I am still a little hyper and ADD. Do I need sugar AND caffeine? Eh, no. I decided to pick up vodka for a chocolate martini pre-race nightcap. Sugar and a downer instead.

3oz Vodka, 3oz Chocolate Vodka (I used 360 Vodka) poured into shaker of ice. Add a splash, or not if you want, of half & half. Shake. Strain into chilled martini glass with chocolate syrup swirled on inside of glass. Mine above is stemless. Serve and sip with a smile. 🙂

I love that vodka! You can just sip it plain and it is great. One of my girlfriends used to own a liquor store and she said that it was really popular.
Whatever they did, they did it right. Which can be a bad thing. It is too good!
