Ok, so you all may have heard about the Beer Run craze going on.
Runners World did a story about it.
Former Boise resident Nick Symmonds made TMZ with his super speedy beer mile.
Unfortunately your browser does not support IFrames.
And if the BF hadn’t sprained his ankle a few weeks ago, I would have forced him to partake in a few laps, and a few beers, for our own beer mile over at the Timberline track.
But thankfully, someone (whoever the director is) decided that Boise needed to have an official Beer Run.

Description: The rules are simple. The race is one mile split into four laps. Before each lap, you must finish a full beer. The race will take place September 29th at 2pm in Ann Morrison park. We’ll have a course marked off and balloons to help you locate the start. We will provide the beer or we’ll have some root beer for those who don’t drink(let us know if this is you). If you choose to bring your own beer, please do not bring glass. You must be 21 or older to drink the beer. Must also have ID. If you throw up, you’re out! You’ll finish with plenty of time to watch the BSU VS New Mexico game that afternoon. Prizes/ribbons for the top 3 men’s and women’s finishers.
2pm. $12. And it is before the BSU game. And the day before the CMY5K and the Ste. Chapelle Idaho Wine Run.
Maybe we could convince Nick Symmonds to run this or at least Ambassador it for us. 🙂
Oh, the whole reason I found out about this run was because I was searching for the races for the rest of the year. St. Chapelle and COT are the last marathons until 2013 in the local area. Which makes me sad. I don’t think I feel complete without completing a marathon. Even though I am participating in the COT half, I feel I need to do a full. I have been playing around with going and doing Seattle again after Thanksgiving, but don”t want to pay for the flight/hotel/ect. I am thinking of allowing the BF’s kids to do the CMY5K and I go and do St. Chapelle. Although it wouldn’t be a super smart thing for me to do without having done any long, long runs for some time, I WOULD be able to finish it. I mean, I COULD do the half, which would be a smarter decision for me, because the half distance is not that much of a challenge – compared to the full.
I don’t know. Anyways, just thinking out loud here on the blog.
How do you plan your races? Do you forgo one race (that you already registered for) for another? Have you, or do you want to, do a beer run?
