The title of your home page Hi there! Are you a new visitor to the site? Feel free to follow my updates on Twitter and RSS blog feed.
I started my day off kinda bummed. Which is sad because it is Friday. Fridays make me happy! But my friend that committed suicide last year, left a 12 year old daughter, who I have met years ago. She posted a terribly heartbreaking message to her father on legacy.com that had my mind reeling.

No child should have to feel that sort of sadness. Which makes me sad because I don’t think that is not the message my friend who committed suicide wanted to convey.
Anyways, I am saddened but I got a little pick me up because there was a goodie waiting for me at the post office!

While I was at the post office, the elderly lady that was in line behind me got her purchase paid for. Some customer earlier in the day left extra money at the register and gave instructions with the mail lady at the counter to use it to pay for others purchases during the day.
There are reasons in the world to be happy today.
As I stated yesterday, I was thinking of what to do this weekend. Sunday, I plan on going to the BSU rec to start up re-running again. If anyone has a rec membership and want to slog a couple of miles around the indoor track with me, lemme know. Sunday will be 2 weeks since my last run, which I did have a pretty big PR.
I know that I will be keeping more cross-training in my winter running “off season.” I have really missed running, but this self imposed ban really proved that I need to have stronger muscles all over to be a stronger runner. And I feel pretty badass lifting weights.
I also plan on cooking this weekend so no one in the household has to eat just bowls of ramen or cereal. I am making this big Roast Pork recipe. I had everything to make this but the BF decided he wanted the mushrooms I had for whatever he wanted them for. Gotta make a run to the store and get more.
I made this Apple Cider Sangria last weekend for a get-together for the family and it was fitting for the fall weather. I also have some apples that I was given that are starting to get a little too soft, but are good enough to put in this drink. Last weekend I used 2 apples and 2 pears, and that is all that fits in my small pitcher. Also the club soda didn’t fit into my pitcher so I splashed some into my glasses when I served it. I only have apples on hand right now and will use only apples this weekend, instead of apples and pears. My modified recipe is below.
1 bottle of Pino Grigio – I used Beringer 2011 because it was one of the cheapest at the store.
2.5C apple cider – I used Tree Top because it was the only cider with 100% juice at the store.
1/2C Apple Liqueur – I used a super old Berentzen from Germany because I didn’t want to buy Brandy & I had this on hand.
4-6 chopped apples & or pears I am just using apples on this weekends batch.
1C club soda
Add ingredients except club soda to pitcher. Stir. Store in fridge overnight. Stir in club soda to pitcher before serving. Enjoy. The BF said this was good cold and at room temperature. I may or may not recommend splashing in some Absolut Vodka Pears .
What made you happy today? Tell me something good about your day or weekend plans!
