This week was cray. I had so much to do and my nice weekly training plan I had going on the last 3 weeks went out the window. I am very thankful for all the time I will be having off work (I have the whole week off except a couple hours on NYE where I have to go in. But I really don’t have to go back in until the 2nd!) for the holiday to make up for this week.
Monday – Rest
Tuesday – 4 Scheduled – None completed. This day was insanely busy. I thought it was Friday for a bit, because I completed so many errands during the day! I completed my final test for my Addiction Studies class. I got a C. (hooray mediocrity!) Not too bad for not putting much effort into it and the only hard work I really did was the 2 6-page papers I wrote and the AA meeting I had to attend.
After my test, I had to go to campus to return my textbook rental and then the Post Office to send and pick up an item. I got my Daily Mile Secret Santa goodies!

Oh, look. My PO Box addy. Feel free to send me goodies 😉 |
I am going to have to do a late night run so I can put the reflectors on my shoes! I love them all! Thank you so much!
Oh, and I also got the opportunity to blog and participate in the Dirty Dash. If you would like to blog and participate for free, please let me know and I can put you in touch with my contact. I have never done a mud run or obstacle race so I am super excited about this!
My knee is kinda still bothering me and I am afraid that I am going to have to take more time off just to be on the safe side. I think I may just hang up my Brooks PureCadences and give some Hokas a try.
Wednesday – 4 Scheduled – None completed. I had to finish up x-mas shopping. Blarg. The BF had a white elephant gift exchange at work and I needed to shop for something for him to give. Thankfully this is my last day of shopping for all of my gifts.
Cost Plus had these cool chocolate gold medals. How cute is this? I think these are the perfect gifts for runners because we can wear it, and bite it. I wish I would have found these sooner and all of my gifts to runners would have included one of these!
Thursday – 4 Scheduled – None completed. Today was just one of these days when I just wanted to stay in bed. I slept in, and it was glorious.
Friday – Rest – 4 completed. My knee was really bothering me during and after. I taped it up with a KT Tape sample that I had laying around. It may have came in a race bag. I went to work and walked around all night and it was comfortable. My knee wasn’t annoying me like it was before I put it on. I liked this so much that I actually went to Sports Authority on Saturday evening and picked up a whole roll!
It is a shoddy tape job but it really did work and lasted until Sunday.
Saturday – 8 Scheduled – 4 completed. My goal was to split up my LR into 2- 4 mile runs. I was going to make bread bowls for soup and thought that I had enough time to run 4 miles before I had to punch down the 1st rise. I did my 4 miles around my neighborhood, punched down my bread, showered, then baked my bread. It all worked out but I never got around to my 2nd 4 miles after going with the BF to finish his xmas shopping.
Sunday – 4 Scheduled – 4 completed. I sat around in my running clothes (that I wore yesterday lol) just waiting for the weather to change. It was a rain/snow mix and I wanted it to just snow, or just stop. It stopped after dark and I had put my new reflectors in the top pic on my shoes and headed out. It was slower then normal but I felt that the drivers were more courteous then normal. Usually I had cars on 4-way stops go before me instead of waiting for me to cross in the crosswalks.
I have the xmas week off from work and I am SO thankful. I told the BF the gift I got for him is going to benefit me and I have been saying its all sorts of things that I want. It has been quite funny. I also said it wasn’t appropriate to open in front of his family on Tuesday. It totally is but its been so very funny when I say its something and then I start laughing uncontrollably. Anyways, week 5 is going to be a little off like week 4 has been. I won’t have time to run on xmas day but xmas eve, I will.
Do you play jokes with your families presents? A box of rocks or boxes inside of boxes inside of boxes? How do you keep your running/workout schedule during the busy holiday time?
I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday!
