This has been my 6th week of Ultra Training. If you are interested, here are my previous training weeks.
50K Training Plan
Week 1
Week 2
Week 3
Week 4
Week 5
I can’t say that this was the best week ever, but it was a pretty awesome week. It was an pretty freaking perfect way to start the year. Almost. From the start of the week to the end, my running emotional state for the most part has been happy, positive and stoked for what my running future holds.
Monday – Rest After the past week off of work, I had to sadly go back. It was only for 2.5 hours, but it was work. I had quite the experience at my New Years Eve dinner after. FYI- I take my NYE very seriously. The restaurant kinda screwed up, even though they know me by name. I was a little disappointed but an $80 dinner or so was free, so not complaining.
Tuesday – 4 Scheduled – 3.1 completed Today was a New Years Day 5K. Please read about it here if you have not. It was pretty cold, but awesome.

My fave pic during the run. |
Wednesday – 6 Scheduled – 3 completed I was so freaking amped during this run. I did it on the treadmill in my clubhouse. But for whatever reason, I only did half my miles. Maybe because I found out before hand that I won 3rd place in my age group and I was so happy. I never checked my results after the race since I ran because I wanted to run. I had NO idea that I won in my AG. I was SO freaking happy. It was my very first win. Even though it is JUST a ribbon, it is very special to me and I will keep it forever. 🙂

3rd place! |
Thursday – 4 Scheduled – 4 completed I really, really didn’t want to run at my clubhouse treddy. Its not the best treddy and I had a feeling that someone was going to be on it. New Years Resolutioners and all. So I ventured out of my house and to the BSU rec. I pounded out 4 miles on the treddy while watching Reno 911. That show is so funny.
Friday – Rest Thankfully a rest day. I just got my 1st iphone. I’m all sorts of fancy now. I sadly had to upgrade my Blackberry Torch. I had to spend my time today buying accessories and downloading apps. Are there any apps you think I have to have?
Saturday – 10 Scheduled – 10 completed I felt awesome during the first 7 miles of this run. But after that, I mentally fell apart. But I finished at basically the same pace I was hoping for so all is ok. My goal is to get to a point where this run is comfortably mentally and physically multiple times a week before I have to go to work.

Sunday – 4 scheduled – 4 completed I really wanted to push myself to go fast for this run, but tried to hold back. I tried.

Tried to go slow. |
MelRunsTheWorld has this obsession with the stairmill. I decided to give it a go. I have been a member of the BSU rec center for over 5 years and I have used the stair stepper once. Never the stair mill.

Death Machine |
I did 100 floors in 28 minutes. Let’s say I think my sweatfest may have scared off the girl on the treadmill next to me.
I was hella sweaty.
How was your workouts this week? Have you ever been on the Death Machine AKA Stepmill? Are you watching Biggest Loser?
Wow, congrats on the race!! Super exciting.I have never done the stair stepper, but I alway imagine how hard it would be. Harder than running actual stairs, do you think? Or maybe just different – like, more resistance, less speed.
I don't if it is harder then actual stairs. But I really felt like I got a workout that I actually had to work on and not really able to slack on it like the bike or elliptical or just walking on the treadmill.
