Packets: In an effort to reduce carbon emissions and landfill usage and save you time, money, and gas, Final Kick no longer conducts pre-race packet pickup. Just show up a little early to the race to get your race schwag and bib number. Thank you for helping us reduce our impact on the earth!
New for 2014: The toughest MARATHON and 1/2 marathon on the planet!! Yeah, we just said that.
Swag: All participants will get a Bruneau Beast hat.
Timing: Chip timing will be provided and results will be posted as soon as possible after the race.
Walkers: Walkers are welcome at all Final Kick Events. There are not separate categories at this race, plus everyone is going to be walking quite a bit.
Shoes and Sand: Unless you pull a Tony, you’re going to get sand in your shoes. Don’t wear your brand new $150 road shoes, you’ll be cursing us for months. Some people stop and empty their shoes a time or two, some just go with it. Feel free to be creative or just expect the sand to be a new challenge.
How tough is it: Last year’s 20k finishers averaged 30-35 minutes slower than their Robie Creek times. If you want to test it out, sign up for the 5k or 10k. In 2012 we had a 4 year old finish the 5k and in 2013 a 10 year old finished the 10k, so expect to finish if you can find some patience and determination.
Awards: Overall prizes for top 3 of both male and female for the 50k, 20k, 10k, & 5k distances. All finishers will receive a painted wooden Bruneau Beast medal.
Pictures: All Final Kick Events are photographed for free by volunteer photographers and uploaded to our Facebook page and to our Final Kick Events photo album and are free to use however you would like.
I have been thinking about the 5k because of doctors orders saying NO on the distance. But we will see.
As with all Final Kick Events, use code TANYA for a discount on the all race distances.
