Thursday Randomness

Posted on May 8, 2014 by runinboise

I have some good things happening here and there and I want to share with you.

I had my first grown up yard sale this weekend with the new boy. Hence not posting in a week because it was a week of work, getting everything organized. He brought over some things of his and of his BFF’s so we had a LOT of stuff. I have never had one since leaving the parental nest however many years ago. It was stressful and a lot of work and I didn’t get much sleep those 3 days worrying about everything outside over night. All in all, I would like to say it was a successful sale and I feel my house is a little bit lighter of “stuff.”

From my non-running related twitter account.

Another good thing lately is that I won some swag on a bloggie contest the other day. Yay!

It was for Lilly’s Hummus. I love this stuff!

I got a shirt, a bag, and 4 tubs of hummus. I have tried the roasted garlic perviously, but had to crack open the Smoked Tomato & Basil first thing. #nom

Another good thing is proof the new boy is very encouraging to my desire to run and race. He is very encouraging to my desire to eat too, and I kinda am having an issue with my love of gluttony here. But that is another topic for another day…

He was checking on eBay how many 100 miler belt buckles there were. (I think he was checking the resale value of my running dedication…) He REALLY wants me to run a hundred and get my own buckle. We have had the convos about this distance before. FYI a little secret – he was there for me at my 50k last year, although I never mentioned him in any of the posts I made. But I needed a driver because I didn’t think I would want to drive myself back home. And I knew the now-ex wouldn’t have been as supportive as I would have liked-as he proved in so many shorter distances.. Anyways…. if I can get my knee to rehabilitate by running shorter distances, I will use this year as a base for working my way to the 100 miler next year. But like everything else in life this year isn’t going as planned so we will see…

Review of Virtual Call Center USAContactPoint
Stolen From WAHA

Third good thing is I have been successfully working from home with a company called USA Contact Point. I have been doing the massage thing (and I am always looking for new clients – FYI) But this is a legit work at home opportunity as an Independent Contractor. I know that there are some people out there who would like – or need – to make a little bit of extra money from home. You can make your own hours. You don’t have to peddle any products. You just take phone calls. Training is provided and all you need is a noise canceling headset and a computer. You can sign up through here.

I have been giving my knee a rest from running distance per Doctors Orders and have been trying to bike more.

I thought I biked 20 but it was only a very windy 14 miles on the greenbelt

My birthday is Friday and I am thinking of biking my age in miles. Because I don’t want to run THAT many miles just yet… 😉

It is going to be a LONG bike ride because my age number is getting bigger. BUT the Loooooong bike ride does give me an excuse to nom on the new Vega Sport Bars in the chocolate coconut almond. (Sponsored plug, and a sponsored review post will be coming soon!)

My box to #nom

Next post is some running and racing related stuff.

Do you do anything fun, like get your age in miles done on your birthday? Do you enjoy yard sales? Favorite hummus flavor and brand?
