Clif Bar Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Posted on September 30, 2016 by runinboise

Since I am local to the new Twin Falls Idaho Clif Bar bakery, they had a ribbon cutting ceremony. It was on the community section of the news so I had to go and check it out.

I had a hard time finding the location. The other half, who grew up here, didn’t know where the street was so we spent a little bit of time trying to drive to the building. The other half said this road didn’t exists in in 1989 :-/

But we made it. There was quite the crowd. There was a huge line for Clif Bar bags, water bottles, hats, shirts – which I got none of – but I did get a bunch of Clif Bars!

Did you know Clif makes wine, too?

Cab, yum!

I tried 3 varieties, but I preferred the Cab. If you like a spicy, peppery red, the Zin was good but a little too spicy for my palate.

Wine Snacks

Clif also makes snacks to pair with the wines. Seasoned almonds (I think Cayenne and basil), cashews, and caramel covered chocolates. SO good. The cheese on the bread was a pineapple goat cheese. I am not a goat fan but the flavor was so good enough that I was OK with it.

We watched the ribbon cutting from the main food line.

What was weird was that there was not enough of anything for everyone. We got the last of the bottled water and pops. They also had an iberico ham. Do you know how freakin’ expensive that shizit it?!?! The little hillbilly kids didn’t get the point of the ham. So the ground was covered in those ham bits because they threw them down instead of eat them. I don’t like prosciutto, but this ham was good. It was good on that rosemary bread on the lower left of my plate.

Those hams are $300+ and each bite was basically $1.00. So much money wasted from people throwing it on the ground.

I think there is some major benefit from Clif Bar being in the area. If it was not 20 miles from my house and basically an hour commute everyday, I would consider a job there. The give there employees some impressive benefits, like race reimbursements. I would totally work there for that.

Do you like Clif Bars? What is your favorite flavor?
