Today is a Sea Day. I had wine last night, and wine to drink today. We had only carry on bags for the flight and I don’t want to spend $25 for a checked bag, so I had planned to drink the bottles we had received for the wine tasting.
Nope. Didn’t happen.
I don’t usually get too sea sick. I got a little woozy at dinner first night of our last cruise in January where I could not eat. I took one Dramamine the first night just as a precaution and didn’t take any else any other days. Today was grey and cold and cloudy. It sucked. Not how I wanted sea day to be when I wanted to lounge and sunbathe.

I got to the dining room for brunch at 11 am or so. I had my coffee and OJ and water. Then I could feel the movement of the boat. The swells outside were at least 6 feet high and it did not bother me all night or all morning. Something about sitting in that dining room just gets me. I really wanted my brekky but I didn’t get it.

My eggs bene I didn’t get to eat. 🙁 |
After however long of a wait, it got delivered and I told the other half, I have to go back to the room. I barely made it to the toilet before I got sick. I had to lay down and take a Dramamine. I tried to get up, but nope. Wasn’t happening. The other half came back and said he was embarrassed that I left and didn’t come back. He was teasing me. He brought me my coffee and I could not drink it. The majority of this day was spent in bed watching the crappy movies on the TV. I tried to get up for lunch and to sit outside, but nope. I needed to lay down. The swells were pretty bad. People were spilling drinks as they were walking the stairs and stuff. I think a lot of people were feeling bad as there were an awful lot of food trays and dishes outside everyone’s rooms. Glad it wasn’t just me feeling crappy.

I did get an ice cream |

My coffee |
The movement of the ship made these perfect little rings of my cream in the coffee.
Lunch and dinner was brought back to the room. The salad took a while to eat but the soup was a roasted pumpkin and it was sooo good. The other half went back and got me another bowl of it.

Sea day was a bust. The weather crappy and spent in bed. Early bedtime for debarkation in the morning. We took the free Passport bus from the Queen Mary to the post office. We mailed back our tequila and one bottle of wine. The freebie bottle would not fit in the large Priority box, so it was to Starbucks to get a sandwich for lunch, a coffee, and to sip the wine before getting an Uber and our flight back home.

Slightly sweet. Very good. Recommend totally. |
The Goodyear blimp was flying over LA. I had to get a shot of it from the Uber ride.

We had such a smooth flight. I don’t know if the pilot was showing off since there was a female pilot heading home in the row in front of me. Everything was so smooth. And I hate flying. It was the best flight in a long time. And that’s saying something for flying Allegiant.

All in all, this vaycay with Carnival was so many times better then the cruise in January. I was sad that they don’t do much of anything for birthdays, and what they did do was kinda phoned in. But the flights were good, the food was good as always. We only went to part of one show (Motown) and it was better then the Divas in January. The other half hinted at a September cruise desire, so I don’t know if that will happen. There are some cheap dates in September, but we don’t quite know yet what the future holds right now.
Have your taken a cruise before? Do you like flying?
