With all the real races canceled right now, virtual runs are the only way to safely participate in group runs. I already completed one, and I have now signed up for THREE more.
The local Boise YMCA has a Flatten The Curve 5K.
IT IS FREE!

Enter the Operation Inspiration Virtual Race to be held on Saturday, April 4, to work out with the global running community, raise money for the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, and have a great time!
If the Foothills trails are dry, I’ll head up there for an hour. If not, it will be an hour on the Greenbelt tomorrow.
The virtual race is for a good cause – Your entire entry fee goes to the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund to support its global response to the COVID-19 pandemic. (If you live in the United States, 100% of your entry fee is tax deductible.)
And there will be prizes. Win, win for everyone!
The 3rd virtual run that I signed up for was totally on a whim. And it is a big lofty goal.
A 100 Miler!
Thankfully, its virtual, and I can take all week to complete it.

April 17-26, 2020 You get a t-shirt, a bib, a sticker, and a medal. Since I am going to attempt the 100 miler, I purchased the buckle. I figure I can do 10 miles a day for 10 days, or 25 miles a day for 4 days, or 50 miles a day in two days. I am not sure of the plan of this yet, and there is a good chance I will be walking most if not all of it, so its gonna be a long slog back and forth on the greenbelt I am imagining.

I know I could have signed up for a shorter trot. I know that it may not count as a real 100 miler ultra where you go and don’t stop, but without the training (I stopped my training when Robie got canceled) and recovering from a horrible time, this is where I am starting from. Heck, who knows, but I am looking forward to the challenge. I really wanted a 100 miler buckle and I am glad that this will be my first.
I am also still doing my Run Bets to keep me active. I start my next one next week and I think I made over $5 on my last one. Not much but at least it is something!
Have you signed up for any Virtual Runs right now? What are you doing to stay active while our gyms are closed and races canceled?
Yep. I so miss the excitement of going to an event with lots of people!
