Quarantine Has Given Me Cabin Fever!

Posted on July 7, 2020June 28, 2020 by runinboise

How has quarantine life been treating you? I was fine with it for a while because I actually like being around my other half and I like my couch and I like cooking at home and I love my bed and ect ect ect.

But it’s been awfully boring. I am enjoying my couch and my Netflix and my random bedtimes. Is it going to be 10PM or 3AM tonight? I don’t like sweating at home when I workout so workouts have been on the back burner – other then the RunBets I signed up for. All of this has lead to me gaining weight but that’s another blog post for another day.

Staying at home so much has been wearing on my for a couple of weeks now. It basically turned itself into cabin fever. Cabin Fever has me wanting to get out of town for a couple of weeks and I finally convinced my other half to get up to Sun Valley. I have missed the trails and the river and my favorite picnic spot.

My Zensah mask is comfy

It was a nice, but very warm little road trip. Masks were required inside all of the stores we visited except the ice cream place and Starbucks.

Love Yellow Belly Ice Cream!

One thing that was weird about Sun Valley is that its awfully safe. There was a $12,000 Trek leaning up against the tree that did not have a bike lock on it. It was just so shocking to see this because there is not many places where this would be OK.

This bike is not locked up and the other is inside the building.

I just searched about the bike and the built in bluetooth is an anti-theft device also so it appears I’m a little behind the times on current and new bike technology. Get off my lawn. 😉

After getting a couple of miles in and teetering right on the edge of sunburn, it was time for a quick drinkiepoo with lunch and then the slog of a drive back home.

I felt much better getting out of town. Even though the Sun Valley area was ground zero for Idaho covid-19 cases a couple of months ago, and we felt that it was still lingering around everywhere we went; but it felt safe to visit and everyone was conscious about mask wearing, hand sanitizer and social distancing.

How have you been dealing with the new corona life? Have you and your loved ones been safe the last couple of months? Are you feeling stressed or depressed about your stay-at-home orders? What have you done to keep your mental state sane during all of this?
